Beaverome
unconventional
Beaverome is a 192x192 unconventional map that challenges players to follow in the footsteps of legendary beaver pioneers who transformed seven massive water-filled craters into the heart of modern beaver civilization. The map is dominated by these enormous craters brimming with water, which guarantees that thirst is never a direct threat. However, this abundance of water comes at a steep cost: the craters consume a huge portion of the map's total area, severely limiting the available space for growing crops, planting trees, and constructing buildings. Finding usable land among the water is the central challenge of Beaverome.
The incredible water volume in the craters means that Drought survival is less about storage and more about maintaining access to the water that already exists. Players do not need extensive dam networks or large reservoir systems since the craters themselves serve as massive natural reservoirs. Instead, the strategic focus shifts to maximizing every available tile of dry land for food production, housing, and industry. Space optimization becomes paramount, and players must carefully plan compact settlements that waste nothing. Building vertically, using multi-story structures, and overlapping production zones are essential techniques for making the most of the limited land area.
During Badtide events, the enormous water volume in the craters can become a liability, as contamination spreads through the interconnected waterways and fills the basins with toxic Badwater. Players must build containment barriers to protect at least some of the crater water from contamination, maintaining isolated clean water reserves for drinking. The 192x192 size provides a moderate playing field, but the effective buildable area is much smaller due to the water-filled craters. Beaverome is classified as unconventional because it inverts the typical Timberborn formula: instead of struggling to find water, players struggle to find land. This unique twist makes it a refreshing challenge for experienced players who want a fundamentally different strategic experience.
