Building
Roof
paths_and_structures
The Roof is a decorative building element in Timberborn that provides a sloped or flat covering placed on top of other structures. Roofs add visual variety and a sense of completion to buildings, transforming flat-topped constructions into more realistic and aesthetically pleasing settlements. They come in several variants and orientations, allowing players to create peaked rooftops, angled surfaces, and other architectural flourishes across their colonies.
Roofs are primarily cosmetic and do not provide any gameplay bonuses to the beavers living or working beneath them. However, they play an important role in the creative building aspect of Timberborn, enabling players to design colonies that look like genuine towns rather than collections of open-topped boxes. Roofs can be combined with Overhangs, Pillars, and other decorative elements to produce elaborate building designs. When planning rooftop placement, keep in mind that Roofs occupy a tile and may block vertical expansion, so it is best to add them as finishing touches once a building's functional layout is finalized.
