Building
Shower

The Shower is a Well-Being building available to both factions, requiring 500 Science Points to unlock. It satisfies the Hygiene need by providing beavers with a refreshing water-based cleansing experience. Beavers with unsatisfied Hygiene needs suffer Well-Being penalties that reduce their overall happiness and productivity, so building Showers is an important mid-game priority once the basic needs of food, water, and shelter have been met. The Shower uses water to operate, connecting your colony's water infrastructure directly to its Well-Being system.
Each Shower serves a limited number of beavers at a time, so growing colonies will need multiple Showers distributed across their districts. Since beavers only visit Well-Being buildings within their own district, every populated district needs its own Hygiene infrastructure. The Shower is the most straightforward Hygiene building, but players seeking greater efficiency can upgrade to the Double Shower (Iron Teeth) or the Mud Bath (Folktails) for alternative approaches to satisfying this need.
Water consumption for Showers should be factored into your colony's overall water budget, especially during drought periods when water reserves are precious. Positioning Showers near Water Pumps and residential areas minimizes beaver travel time and maximizes the number of beavers served per day. The Shower works alongside other Hygiene buildings like the Bath House to form a comprehensive cleanliness infrastructure, and its relatively low unlock cost makes it accessible well before the more expensive Well-Being options become available.
