Iron Teeth

Industrial efficiency-focused faction with metal and machinery

The Iron Teeth are one of two playable beaver factions in Timberborn, distinguished by their mastery of metal and science to build advanced machinery. Where the Folktails embrace nature, the Iron Teeth favor industriousness and raw productivity. Their motto, "Work hard, work hard," reflects a culture built around efficiency and mechanical innovation. Their buildings sport a darker color scheme that matches their distinctive fur, giving Iron Teeth settlements a gritty, industrial aesthetic. Unlocking this faction requires achieving an average Well-Being of 15 while playing as Folktails, making them a rewarding progression goal for new players. With access to Breeding Pods, Engines, Tubeways, Ironbots, and a wide array of exclusive crops and processing buildings, the Iron Teeth offer a fundamentally different playstyle focused on automation and dense, vertical construction.

One of the Iron Teeth faction's greatest strengths lies in their unique food production chain. They have exclusive access to crops like Kohlrabi, Cassava, Soybean, Canola, Corn, Eggplant, Mushroom, and Algae, providing an impressive range of agricultural options. These crops feed into faction-specific processing buildings: the Fermenter converts raw crops into fermented goods, the Oil Press extracts oils from Canola and other oilseeds, the Food Factory combines ingredients into advanced meals, and the Coffee Brewery turns Coffee Beans into Coffee for a substantial Well-Being boost. Their Hydroponic Gardens do not require green land, making them compact and easily stackable for vertical farming layouts. Population growth is managed through Breeding Pods, which produce Kits, while Advanced Breeding Pods can breed adult beavers directly, bypassing the six-day maturation period and providing roughly 10 to 20 percent more workforce under the same population count.

The Iron Teeth excel at infrastructure and automation. Their Tubeway System provides fast transportation with contamination immunity, allowing safe passage through Badwater zones that would otherwise poison beavers. Vertical Tubeways combined with Impermeable Floors prevent water leakage in multi-level builds. For power generation, the Iron Teeth rely on the Steam Engine, which converts Logs into sustainable energy, and they can combine Badwater Discharge with the Large Water Wheel to harness constant Badwater flow for additional power. Ironbots serve as tireless mechanical workers that require only Grease, Charging Stations, and Control Towers to operate, freeing up living beavers for other tasks. The Numbercruncher generates Science Points around the clock without needing a workforce. The faction's crowning achievement is the Earth Repopulator, a Wonder that provides massive Awe satisfaction and stands as a testament to Iron Teeth engineering. For contamination management, the Decontamination Pod cures poisoned beavers in roughly half the time of the Folktails' Antidote, and the Double Shower provides efficient Wet Fur satisfaction. Combined with dense housing options like Rowhouses and Large Rowhouses, the Iron Teeth are the faction of choice for players who enjoy optimizing complex production chains and building sprawling industrial empires.
