Square Banner

decoration_and_monuments

The Square Banner is a decorative building available to both factions, introduced in version 1.0 and requiring 700 Science Points to unlock. Like its companion, the Pole Banner, it satisfies the Aesthetics need by displaying a bold, colorful banner that adds visual richness to the colony. The Square Banner's wider, more prominent design makes it suitable for mounting on buildings, walls, or as a standalone decoration in open plazas, providing a different aesthetic profile than the tall, narrow Pole Banner.

The Square Banner and Pole Banner were both added in version 1.0 as part of the game's expanded decoration system, giving players more tools to customize and beautify their settlements. At 700 Science Points each, they occupy the same tier of decorative investment and can be mixed and matched to create varied, visually interesting districts. The Square Banner's broader shape makes it ideal for placement on flat surfaces or against walls, while the Pole Banner suits streets and open areas.

Together, the Square Banner and Pole Banner fill a useful niche between cheap basic decorations (Shrubs, Benches) and expensive monuments. Their moderate Aesthetics bonus helps push district Well-Being scores higher without the massive resource commitment of Farmer Monuments, Laborer Monuments, or Wonders. For both Folktails and Iron Teeth players who have unlocked most essential buildings and are looking for ways to further optimize Well-Being, these banners offer a flexible, attractive solution that also adds thematic depth to the colony's visual design.
