Zipline Pylon

paths_and_structures

The Zipline Pylon is a tall support structure used by the Folktails faction in Timberborn to anchor zipline cables between elevated points. As part of the Folktails' unique transportation system, Zipline Pylons serve as intermediate waypoints that keep zipline cables at the correct height, enabling beavers to glide rapidly downhill across long distances. They are a key component of the faction's approach to fast, nature-inspired transit.

Zipline Pylons must be placed between a Zipline Station at the top of a slope and another station or connection point at a lower elevation. The pylons maintain cable tension and direction, allowing zipline routes to navigate around obstacles and change direction as needed. When designing zipline networks, players should position pylons at regular intervals and at points where the terrain profile changes, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted travel. Combined with Zipline Stations and Zipline Beams, pylons enable the Folktails to build extensive aerial transit systems that bypass ground-level congestion entirely.
