Zipline Station

The Zipline Station is a Folktails-exclusive rapid transit building unlocked for 500 Science Points, forming the entrance and exit points of the Zipline network. Once aboard a Zipline, beavers and Bots gain a +150% movement speed bonus (2.5x normal speed), drastically reducing travel time across your colony. Zipline networks consist of Zipline Stations connected by Zipline Pylons and Zipline Beams, creating an aerial transit system that lets commuters travel above the landscape without navigating ground-level Paths and Stairs.
Ziplines are the Folktails answer to the Iron Teeth Tubeway System, offering fast aerial transit that bypasses terrain obstacles entirely. They are especially valuable on maps with significant elevation changes, wide rivers, or sprawling settlements where ground-level travel would be slow and inefficient. By connecting distant parts of your colony with Zipline Stations, you can ensure that beavers reach far-flung workplaces, storage facilities, and amenities quickly. The aerial nature of Ziplines means they do not interfere with ground-level infrastructure, water flow, or building placement.
When designing your Zipline network, place Stations at high-traffic hubs such as major production areas, housing clusters, and storage districts. Ziplines work best for covering long horizontal distances and significant elevation drops, where the speed bonus provides the greatest time savings compared to walking. For short distances or single-floor transitions, regular Stairs or Spiral Stairs remain more practical. Consider building a backbone Zipline route connecting your colony core to outlying resource-gathering areas, then expanding the network as your settlement grows. The Folktails Zipline system provides a meaningful transit advantage that helps offset the Iron Teeth faction's powerful Tubeway technology.
