Biofuel from Carrots

folktails

The Biofuel from Carrots recipe converts 2 Water and 2 Carrots into 5 Biofuel at the Refinery, a Folktails-exclusive Science building. Each batch takes 2 hours. Biofuel is a critical late-game material essential for powering Timberbots, the autonomous mechanical workers that supplement your beaver labor force. Without a reliable Biofuel supply, Bots refuse to work and move 75% slower, severely crippling their productivity.

The Refinery serves as the Folktails' multi-purpose chemical processing facility, handling Biofuel, Catalyst, and Antidote production. For Biofuel specifically, the recipe requires Carrots (a Folktails-exclusive crop grown at Farmhouses) and Water, both of which are relatively easy to obtain. The 2:5 conversion ratio means each batch produces a generous 5 units of Biofuel, but since each Bot consumes nearly 2 units per day, a single Refinery can only keep about 1 to 2 Bots supplied when running Biofuel exclusively.

As your Bot fleet grows, Biofuel production becomes an increasingly important bottleneck. Plan to scale up both Carrot farming and Refinery capacity proportionally to your Bot count. Since the Refinery can also produce Catalyst and Antidote, you may need dedicated Refineries for each product to avoid production conflicts. Position your Biofuel Refinery near both your Water source and Carrot storage for efficient ingredient delivery. Stockpiling Biofuel before constructing new Bots ensures they can begin working immediately upon assembly, avoiding the costly downtime of fuel-starved mechanical workers.
