Logs to Planks (Industrial)

iron_teeth

The Logs to Planks (Industrial) recipe is the Iron Teeth faction's upgraded version of the basic plank-making process. Performed at the Industrial Lumber Mill, it converts 1 Log into 1 Plank in just 0.63 hours, roughly half the time of the standard Lumber Mill recipe. This speed comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption at 75 horsepower, but the trade-off is well worth it for settlements that need to scale up Plank production quickly. The Industrial Lumber Mill employs 2 workers, further increasing its throughput compared to the single-worker standard mill.

As an Iron Teeth exclusive building, the Industrial Lumber Mill reflects the faction's industrial philosophy of mechanized, high-output production. Planks remain the cornerstone of virtually every production chain in the game: they feed into the Gear Workshop to produce Gears, the Wood Workshop to produce Treated Planks, and are consumed directly in building construction. Because one Industrial Lumber Mill can produce nearly as many Planks as two standard Lumber Mills, Iron Teeth players can achieve the same output with fewer buildings and less land, freeing up space for other structures.

For optimal efficiency, pair each Industrial Lumber Mill with dedicated forestry operations nearby to minimize Log hauling distance. A single Industrial Lumber Mill running at full capacity produces about 1.6 Planks per hour, which can comfortably feed 1 to 2 Gear Workshops or keep pace with heavy construction demands. Since the power draw is only 75 hp, it fits easily into early power networks supplied by a single Water Wheel or Windmill. Players transitioning from the early game should prioritize unlocking this building to accelerate their entire production pipeline and gain a significant economic advantage over the slower common Lumber Mill.
