Planks to Treated Planks
common
The Planks to Treated Planks recipe transforms 1 Plank and 1 Pine Resin into 1 Treated Plank at the Wood Workshop. This process takes 3 hours and demands a substantial 250 horsepower, making it one of the more power-intensive crafting operations in Timberborn. Treated Planks are a late-game material available to all factions, serving as a durable, weather-resistant building component required for advanced structures such as the Mechanical Water Pump, Mud Bath, and various high-tier buildings.
The production chain for Treated Planks requires two separate supply lines converging at the Wood Workshop. Planks come from the Lumber Mill or Industrial Lumber Mill, while Pine Resin is harvested from Pine Trees by Tapper's Shacks (a Folktails building) or equivalent gathering structures. Because both inputs are consumed at a 1:1 ratio, balancing the supply of Planks and Pine Resin is essential. A shortage of either input will idle the Wood Workshop, wasting both the worker's time and the considerable power investment.
Given the 250 hp power requirement, players should plan their power infrastructure carefully before scaling up Treated Plank production. A single Water Wheel typically provides around 200 hp, so you may need multiple power sources or an Engine to run even one Wood Workshop reliably. Since the crafting time is 3 hours per Treated Plank, throughput is inherently limited; building multiple Wood Workshops in parallel is the only way to increase output. Prioritize planting Pine Trees early in the game so that a mature grove is ready by the time you unlock the Wood Workshop, ensuring a smooth transition into late-game construction.
