Medium Warehouse

storage

The Medium Warehouse is a mid-tier warehouse storage building unlocked for 250 Science Points and costing 15 Logs to construct. With a storage capacity of 200 units, it holds nearly seven times more goods than the Small Warehouse, making it a significant upgrade for colonies that have outgrown their initial storage infrastructure. Like all warehouses, it stores a single type of warehouse-compatible solid good, with contents displayed as stacks of crates that visually indicate the current fill level.

Medium Warehouses represent the sweet spot between the basic Small Warehouse and the expensive Large Warehouse. Their 200-unit capacity is sufficient to handle the output of most mid-game production chains without requiring the substantial investment that a Large Warehouse demands. Place Medium Warehouses at the center of production clusters where multiple buildings feed goods into storage, such as food processing districts (near Gristmills, Bakeries, and Kitchens) or manufacturing areas (near workshops producing Gears, Paper, or other finished goods).

When transitioning from Small to Medium Warehouses, consider consolidating multiple Small Warehouses into fewer Medium Warehouses to free up building space. The 15-Log construction cost is modest for mid-game colonies with established forestry operations. For maximum efficiency, position Medium Warehouses along major hauling routes so that haulers serving multiple production buildings can deposit goods with minimal travel. As your colony reaches late-game scale, supplement Medium Warehouses with Large Warehouses (1200 capacity) at central hubs while keeping Medium Warehouses at satellite production sites for quick local access.
