Small Warehouse
storage
The Small Warehouse is the most basic warehouse storage building in Timberborn, available from the start with no Science Point cost and costing only 3 Logs to construct. With a storage capacity of 30 units, it stores a single type of warehouse-compatible good, which includes all solid goods that are not stored in Piles (such as food items, manufactured goods, and processed materials). Warehouses are visually distinct from Piles, displaying their contents as stacks of crates whose quantity indicates the current occupancy level.
Small Warehouses are essential in early-game colonies for storing the diverse range of goods that your beavers produce and consume. Food supplies, berries, bread, and other processed goods all require warehouse storage, making these buildings critical for preventing production stalls caused by full inventories. Place Small Warehouses near kitchens, bakeries, and other food production buildings to ensure finished goods are stored quickly, and near residential areas so beavers can access food and consumables without long walks. The 30-unit capacity fills quickly in active colonies, so plan to build several Small Warehouses early on.
As your colony grows, upgrade to Medium Warehouses (200 capacity) and Large Warehouses (1200 capacity) to consolidate storage and reduce the number of individual buildings needed. However, Small Warehouses remain useful for targeted storage at specific production sites where only small quantities of a particular good need to be buffered. Their low 3-Log construction cost makes them easy to place as satellite storage throughout your colony. For optimal logistics, maintain a mix of warehouse sizes: Large Warehouses at central distribution hubs and Small Warehouses at outlying production facilities to minimize hauling distances across your settlement.
