Like several other Iron Teeth crops, Eggplant cannot be eaten raw and must be processed at a Food Factory to produce Eggplant Rations. The crop takes several days to mature and requires continuous irrigation, making it dependent on stable water management infrastructure.

Eggplant's role in the Iron Teeth food economy centers on its conversion at the Food Factory. The recipe requires 10 Eggplant and 10 Canola Oil to produce 60 Eggplant Rations, which means Eggplant production must be coordinated with Canola farming and oil pressing. This dual-ingredient requirement makes Eggplant Rations more complex to produce than single-ingredient Corn Rations, but the food diversity they provide contributes to beaver well-being.

Plan your Eggplant farming alongside Canola cultivation to ensure both ingredients are available at the Food Factory simultaneously. Running the Food Factory with only one ingredient in stock results in idle production time. Dedicate enough farmland to both crops, and consider the relative production rates of each to avoid bottlenecks. Eggplant diversifies the Iron Teeth diet alongside Fermented Cassava, Fermented Soybeans, and Corn Rations, and a varied diet keeps beavers happier and more productive.
