Corn Rations

food_processed

Corn Rations are a late-game food exclusive to the Iron Teeth faction in Timberborn, produced at the Food Factory from raw Corn. The conversion recipe transforms 12 Corn into 60 Corn Rations, yielding an impressive 5:1 multiplication that makes this one of the most efficient food production methods in the game. Corn Rations satisfy both hunger and a nutrition need, providing a solid dietary component for late-game Iron Teeth colonies.

The Food Factory is a versatile production building that handles multiple recipes, including Corn Rations, Eggplant Rations, and Algae Rations. Managing the Factory's production queue to balance these different outputs based on your colony's current needs is an important part of Iron Teeth food management. Corn Rations have the advantage of requiring only a single ingredient (Corn), making them simpler to produce than Eggplant Rations (which also need Canola Oil) or Algae Rations (which need both Canola Oil and Algae).

The high output ratio of Corn Rations makes them an excellent choice for feeding large populations. A relatively small Corn farm can produce enough raw material to generate large quantities of finished rations, freeing up farmland for other crops. However, because Corn is a late-game crop, you will need to sustain your colony on other food sources (Kohlrabies, Fermented Cassava, Fermented Soybeans) while building toward Corn Ration production. Once established, a Corn-to-rations pipeline can become the backbone of your late-game food economy.
