Rowhouse
housing
The Rowhouse is a compact Iron Teeth housing building with a uniquely slim 2x1 footprint that accommodates 4 beavers. Unlocked at 500 Science Points, this tall, narrow structure represents the Iron Teeth's approach to high-density urban living, fitting housing into spaces where wider buildings simply would not work. The Rowhouse is particularly valuable in tightly packed districts where every tile of ground space matters, allowing players to line streets with housing that leaves room for production buildings and infrastructure on adjacent tiles.
The Rowhouse's 2x1 footprint gives it the flexibility to fill gaps in your settlement layout that other housing buildings cannot. At 4 beavers per building, it offers 2 beavers per ground tile, which is competitive with larger housing options while being far easier to place in constrained areas. Like all Iron Teeth dwellings, the Rowhouse does not support natural breeding and relies on Breeding Pods for population growth. Its narrow profile also makes it easier to satisfy passive Aesthetics needs, as more of the building's surface area is exposed to adjacent decorative elements and green spaces.
The Rowhouse excels in situations where you need to squeeze additional housing capacity into an already-developed district. Rather than demolishing and rebuilding large sections to accommodate a Barrack or Large Barrack, you can slot Rowhouses into narrow corridors, along district edges, or between existing production buildings. They are also excellent for satellite housing clusters near remote work sites, providing just enough beds for the workers stationed there. For optimal district planning, combine Rowhouses with Large Barracks and Large Rowhouses to create mixed-density residential areas that maximize population while maintaining efficient path networks.
