Large Rowhouse
housing
The Large Rowhouse is the most space-efficient housing available to the Iron Teeth, packing 8 beavers into the same slim 2x1 footprint as the standard Rowhouse but standing one block taller. Unlocked at 500 Science Points, this towering residential building achieves an impressive 4 beavers per ground tile, making it the best option for maximizing population density in land-constrained districts. The Large Rowhouse maintains the Iron Teeth's industrial aesthetic while providing practical advantages for urban planning in mature colonies.
At 8 beavers per building on a 2x1 footprint, the Large Rowhouse outperforms every other Iron Teeth housing option in terms of density. For comparison, a Large Barrack houses 12 beavers on a 3x3 footprint (about 1.33 per tile), while the Large Rowhouse achieves 4 per tile. This dramatic efficiency difference makes the Large Rowhouse the preferred choice for endgame housing, especially in districts where ground space is at a premium due to production facilities, storage buildings, and infrastructure. Like all Iron Teeth housing, it does not support natural breeding and relies on Breeding Pods or Advanced Breeding Pods for population growth.
The Large Rowhouse truly shines in dense industrial districts and in colonies built on maps with limited flat terrain. Its narrow footprint allows it to fit along pathways, between larger buildings, and in spaces that would otherwise go unused. When designing residential blocks, lining both sides of a path with Large Rowhouses creates extremely high-density housing corridors that are also aesthetically pleasing. Pair these housing corridors with nearby Rooftop Terraces for social life satisfaction and ensure strong food distribution networks to support the concentrated population. The Large Rowhouse is the Iron Teeth's answer to the perennial challenge of housing a growing workforce without sprawling across the map.
