Small Industrial Pile

storage

The Small Industrial Pile is an Iron Teeth-exclusive pile storage building unlocked for 250 Science Points. What sets Industrial Piles apart from standard Folktails piles is their stackable design: because they are classified as solid structures, you can place additional buildings, Platforms, Paths, and even more Industrial Piles on top of them. This stackability is a defining feature of the Iron Teeth faction's industrial architecture, enabling vertical storage towers that dramatically increase storage capacity per ground tile compared to non-stackable alternatives.

The ability to stack Small Industrial Piles vertically transforms storage district design for Iron Teeth colonies. Instead of spreading storage buildings across a wide area, you can create compact storage towers that reach upward, leaving valuable ground space available for production buildings, paths, and water infrastructure. Combined with Stairs or Tubeway Stations for vertical access, stacked Industrial Piles create efficient vertical warehousing systems that match the Iron Teeth faction's emphasis on dense, industrial urbanism. Each pile in the stack stores a single good type independently, so a vertical column can store multiple different materials.

When building with Small Industrial Piles, plan your storage towers alongside your vertical transit infrastructure. Place Stairs or Spiral Stairs adjacent to pile columns so haulers can reach every level. For even greater capacity per tower, upgrade to Large Industrial Piles, which offer more storage per level. The Small Industrial Pile is the entry point to Iron Teeth's vertical storage system and should be built early to establish the stacking pattern that will scale throughout your colony's growth. Folktails players lack access to stackable piles but can achieve high density through Underground Piles instead.
