Bread

food_processed

Bread is a mid-game food in Timberborn, baked at the Bakery from Wheat Flour and Logs. As a cooked food that requires a three-step production chain (Wheat farming, Flour grinding at the Gristmill, and baking at the Bakery), Bread represents a significant investment in food processing infrastructure. However, the payoff is substantial: Bread is one of the most satisfying foods in the game, providing strong hunger satisfaction and a dedicated nutrition bonus that keeps beavers happy and productive.

The Bakery is exclusive to the Folktails faction and employs workers who bake Wheat Flour into Bread while consuming Logs as fuel. The same Bakery can also produce Maple Pastries (from Wheat Flour and Maple Syrup) and Cattail Crackers (from Cattail Flour), making it a versatile food production hub. Managing the Bakery's recipe priorities and input supplies is key to maintaining a diverse and satisfying diet for your colony.

Bread production is vulnerable to disruption at multiple points in its supply chain. Wheat crop failures during drought, Gristmill power outages, or Log shortages for fuel can all halt Bread output. To mitigate these risks, maintain stockpiles at every stage: raw Wheat in Farmhouses, Wheat Flour in warehouses, Logs near the Bakery, and finished Bread in food storage. A well-supplied Bakery running at full capacity can feed a large colony, making it one of the most important buildings in any Folktails settlement.
