One Cattail Root yields one Cattail Flour, following the same conversion rate as the Wheat-to-Wheat-Flour process. The Gristmill requires power to operate, so ensure it has a connected power source for uninterrupted production. Cattail Flour serves as the intermediate step between harvested Cattail Roots and the finished food product, Cattail Crackers.

The Gristmill handles both Cattail Roots and Wheat as inputs, producing Cattail Flour and Wheat Flour respectively. This shared infrastructure means you can manage both flour types with a single Gristmill, though high-demand colonies may need dedicated mills for each ingredient. Cattail Flour is stored in warehouses and remains fresh indefinitely, so building up a reserve before droughts is a sound strategy.
