As the intermediate step between raw Wheat and baked goods, Wheat Flour is essential for producing two of the game's most valuable food items: Bread and Maple Pastries.

Wheat Flour is used exclusively at the Bakery, where it is baked into Bread using Logs as fuel, or combined with Maple Syrup to create Maple Pastries. Both recipes produce high-quality food that satisfies hunger and provides significant nutrition bonuses to beavers. The Bakery is a Folktails-exclusive building, which means Wheat Flour and its downstream products are specific to that faction's food economy.

To maintain a steady supply of Wheat Flour, ensure your Gristmill has consistent power and a reliable stream of harvested Wheat from your Farmhouses. The Gristmill also processes Cattail Roots into Cattail Flour, so if you are growing both crops, a single Gristmill can handle both production lines. During drought preparation, stockpile Wheat Flour alongside raw Wheat and finished Bread to ensure your colony has food at every stage of the production chain. Running out of Wheat Flour during a drought can leave your Bakery idle even if you have Logs for fuel.
