Efficient Mine

The Efficient Mine is the Iron Teeth faction's advanced underground metal extraction building, unlocked for 1000 Science Points and featuring a unique enhanced recipe that can double Scrap Metal output. Like the Folktails Mine, it must be placed on Underground Ruins and employs up to 10 miners on a large footprint. Constructed from 300 Logs, 450 Gears, and 300 Treated Planks, it represents an even greater investment than the standard Mine but rewards that cost with superior production capabilities. The basic recipe mirrors the standard Mine: 1 Treated Plank yields 5 Scrap Metal in 1.8 hours.
What sets the Efficient Mine apart is its enhanced recipe: by combining 1 Treated Plank with 2 Extract, the output doubles to 10 Scrap Metal per 1.8-hour cycle. This effectively doubles your mining throughput without adding more workers or building additional mines, making Extract production a high priority for Iron Teeth players who want to maximize their metal economy. The enhanced internal storage accommodates up to 300 Scrap Metal (double the standard Mine's 150), reflecting the building's higher output potential. With 10 workers running the enhanced recipe at full capacity, a single Efficient Mine can supply multiple Smelters simultaneously, creating a metal production powerhouse.
The construction requirements for the Efficient Mine are steep, demanding 300 Treated Planks, 450 Gears, and 300 Logs. This means your entire wood processing pipeline (Lumberjack Flags, Foresters, Lumber Mills or Industrial Lumber Mills, Gear Workshops, Tapper's Shacks, and Wood Workshops) must be running at high capacity before you can even break ground. Plan your material stockpiling carefully, and consider building the standard recipe first while you develop Extract production for the enhanced output. Position the Efficient Mine on Underground Ruins with excellent path connections to both your Treated Plank supply and your Smelter district. The Efficient Mine embodies the Iron Teeth philosophy of industrial optimization, turning raw underground resources into the metal that powers your faction's advanced technology.
