Coffee Beans

food_ingredient

Coffee Beans are a late-game ingredient in Timberborn, gathered from Coffee Bushes by beavers working at Gatherer Flags. Coffee Bushes can be planted by Foresters and produce beans once mature, providing a renewable supply of this luxury ingredient. Coffee Beans cannot be consumed directly; they must be brewed into Coffee at the Coffee Brewery, which also requires Water and Logs as fuel.

Coffee Bushes grow in conditions similar to other bushes and can be planted alongside Blueberry Bushes and Dandelion Bushes in forested or dedicated gathering areas. Since Coffee Beans are gathered rather than farmed, they do not compete for irrigated farmland, making them a good complement to crop-based food production. However, Coffee Bush growth does depend on irrigated terrain, so water management remains important.

Establishing Coffee Bean production is a prerequisite for the Coffee Brewery, which produces one of the most powerful happiness boosters in the game. Plan your Coffee Bush groves near Gatherer Flags with short travel distances for efficient collection. Since Coffee Beans are the bottleneck ingredient for Coffee production (Water and Logs are typically abundant), maximizing bush planting density and gatherer efficiency is key to a successful coffee operation. Start planting Coffee Bushes well before you build the Brewery to ensure a mature supply is ready when production begins.
