Grease is a late-game material exclusive to the Iron Teeth faction in Timberborn, produced at the Grease Factory by combining Canola Oil and Extract. Grease serves as a performance enhancer for Ironbots, the Iron Teeth's mechanical workers. When supplied with Grease, Ironbots receive a significant productivity boost that makes them more effective at their assigned tasks. This parallels the role that Catalyst plays for Folktails' Timberbots.

The production chain for Grease draws from two distinct resource streams. Canola Oil comes from pressing Canola Seeds at an Oil Press (requiring Canola farming), while Extract is produced by processing Badwater at a Centrifuge. This means Grease production ties into both your agricultural and Badwater processing infrastructure, creating demand across multiple sectors of your economy. The Grease Factory itself requires power and workers, adding to the operational overhead.

Producing Grease efficiently requires balancing Canola Oil allocation between food production (Fermented Soybeans, Eggplant Rations, Algae Rations) and industrial use. Since Canola Oil feeds into so many recipes, dedicating a portion specifically for Grease manufacturing may require expanding your Canola farming operations. Extract availability depends on Badwater cycles, so stockpile Extract during Badtides for continuous Grease production. Keeping your Ironbot fleet supplied with Grease is essential for maintaining peak mechanical workforce productivity in the late game.
