Spadderdock
food_ingredient
Spadderdock is an aquatic crop ingredient in Timberborn, grown in shallow water (less than 1 block deep) and harvested by Aquatic Farmhouses. Each Spadderdock crop takes 12 days to mature, making it one of the slowest-growing crops in the game. However, a single fully grown Spadderdock plant yields 3 Spadderdock upon harvest, providing a decent return for the long wait. Like Cattails, Spadderdock utilizes water-covered terrain that would otherwise be unproductive.
Raw Spadderdock cannot be eaten by beavers and must be cooked into Grilled Spadderdock at a Grill. The grilling process takes 0.4 hours per Spadderdock and produces 3 Grilled Spadderdock from each raw unit, resulting in an effective multiplication that makes the long growing time more worthwhile. The Grill consumes a small amount of Logs as fuel during cooking.
The 12-day growth cycle means Spadderdock farming requires very long-term planning. Ensure your aquatic growing areas maintain stable water levels throughout the entire growth period; any drying or flooding can ruin the crop. Build dedicated shallow-water reservoirs for Spadderdock farming, protected by dams and levees. Because of the slow growth, start planting early and maintain a large number of growing plots to ensure a continuous harvest rotation. Spadderdock is best treated as a supplementary food source that leverages unused water terrain rather than a primary food supply.
