The Grill is a Folktails food processing building that transforms raw ingredients into cooked meals, boosting their nutritional value and contributing to food variety for your colony. Unlocked for 250 Science Points, this 2x2 structure employs 1 worker and uses a small amount of Logs as fuel (0.1 per batch). It can prepare three distinct recipes: Grilled Potatoes (1 Potato yields 4 servings in 0.52 hours), Grilled Chestnuts (1 Chestnut yields 2 servings in 0.33 hours), and Grilled Spadderdock (1 Spadderdock yields 3 servings in 0.4 hours). The Grill transmits power through its structure, so it can serve as part of your power shaft network without requiring dedicated connections.

Each Grill processes only one recipe at a time, so building at least three Grills (one per recipe) is recommended to maximize food variety and the wellbeing bonuses that come with it. Grilled Potatoes offer the best multiplication factor at 4x, making Potatoes from the Efficient Farmhouse an extremely efficient crop when paired with a Grill. Chestnuts gathered by the Gatherer Flag provide a free input source since they require no farming infrastructure, while Spadderdock from the Aquatic Farmhouse rounds out your grilled food options. Internal storage holds up to 30 units of input ingredients and 60 to 120 units of finished products, so a single well-supplied Grill can build up substantial food reserves.

Positioning your Grills near both the source farms and your main warehouse district minimizes hauling time and keeps production flowing. The fuel requirement is minimal (just 0.1 Logs per batch), so a single Lumberjack Flag can easily keep several Grills running. Because the Grill is one of the simplest food processing buildings in the Folktails tech tree, it serves as an excellent stepping stone before you invest in the more complex Gristmill and Bakery chain for Wheat and Cattail products. In the late game, maintaining a set of active Grills alongside your Bakery operations ensures your beavers enjoy the widest possible food variety, keeping wellbeing high and your workforce productive.
