Bot Chassis

common

The Bot Chassis recipe fabricates 1 Bot Chassis from 5 Planks and 1 Metal Block at the Bot Part Factory, requiring 150 horsepower and 0.3 hours (18 minutes) per batch. The Bot Chassis forms the structural core of every Timberbot, serving as the frame to which the Bot Head and Bot Limbs are attached during final assembly. This recipe is available to all factions, though the Folktails version may additionally require Biofuel as an input.

The Bot Part Factory is a Science building that handles all three Bot component recipes (Chassis, Head, and Limbs). For the Chassis specifically, the 5 Plank requirement makes it the most Plank-intensive Bot part, while the Metal Block input ties it to the Smelter and mining operations. Metal Blocks are a precious late-game resource produced from Scrap Metal, so each Bot Chassis represents a significant investment in your colony's mineral reserves. Plan your mining and smelting operations to keep pace with Bot production goals.

At 0.3 hours per batch, the Bot Chassis is relatively quick to produce compared to the final Bot Assembly step (36 hours). This means the Bot Part Factory can pre-build Chassis components in advance, stockpiling them for when the Bot Assembler is ready. To maintain efficient production, keep at least 5 Planks and 1 Metal Block in storage near the Bot Part Factory at all times. Since each complete Bot requires exactly 1 Chassis, your Chassis production rate directly determines how many Bots you can eventually assemble. Pair this recipe with the Bot Head and Bot Limbs recipes to create a steady pipeline of components feeding the Bot Assembler.
