Large Power Wheel
power
The Large Power Wheel is the Iron Teeth faction's answer to beaver-powered energy generation, requiring 250 Science Points to unlock and costing 50 Logs to build. This imposing structure employs up to 4 beavers simultaneously, producing a base output of 300 horsepower when fully staffed. Like its common counterpart (the standard Power Wheel), the Large Power Wheel scales its output with each beaver's movement speed, meaning a crew of well-rested, well-fed beavers can push production to an impressive 510 horsepower at maximum movement speed bonuses.
The relationship between beaver Well-Being and power output makes the Large Power Wheel a uniquely organic generator. Investing in buildings such as the Double Shower, Exercise Plaza, and Brazier to keep your workforce happy pays dividends in raw energy production. Conversely, neglecting your beavers' needs during harsh drought cycles will noticeably reduce output, potentially cascading into further problems if powered buildings like the Numbercruncher or Charging Station lose their energy supply. Smart Iron Teeth players maintain robust Well-Being infrastructure specifically to maximize the efficiency of their Large Power Wheels.
While the Large Power Wheel demands a significant workforce commitment of 4 beavers, it provides consistent, fuel-free power that does not depend on water flow or wind conditions. This makes it an excellent complement to Compact Water Wheels and Large Water Wheels during dry seasons, and a strong early-to-mid-game workhorse before transitioning to Engines or Geothermal Engines. Its reliability ensures that critical infrastructure like Bot Assemblers and Control Towers can continue operating even when environmental power sources falter.
